Prosthodontics is a dental specialty that is recognized by the ADA (American Dental Association). It refers to the diagnosis, treatment planning, reconstruction, and maintenance of the oral dentition, function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with conditions associated with missing teeth, breakdown of teeth and or the oral and maxillofacial tissues.
What makes Dr. Girskis a Prosthodontist?
A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed dental school plus three additional years of advanced training and education in an ADA-accredited prosthodontic graduate program. They specialize in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing tooth and jaw structures. Dr. Girskis received his undergraduate dental education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1983 and completed his residency in Prosthodontics at The University of Michigan in 1986. Dr. Girskis is highly trained in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD), and more.
